Architect, Project Manager at The University of Arizona
As Arizona’s land-grant university, we are driven to do great things. It’s our passion to transform the lives of our student Wildcats and to solve some of the biggest challenges facing our state and the world.
But what makes us unique is how we do it. We live our purpose, mission and values every day. And we do this in one of the most incredible places on Earth, surrounded by majestic mountains and Saguaro forests, and under a sky that ignites imaginations with cotton candy sunsets and diamond-filled nights. At the University of Arizona, everywhere you look is filled with wonder.
The University of Arizona has an ongoing building program that is transforming the campus to support high-quality education and research and to enhance the experience of all who interact with it. The department of Planning, Design & Construction enriches the University of Arizona with facilities that contribute to the success of students, faculty, and staff by creating an outstanding campus environment through the management of planning, design & construction projects, as well as real estate portfolios, GIS, and spatial data resources.
Planning, Design & Construction is hiring an Architect, Project Manager (Design & Construction Project Manager IV) to manage innovative and challenging building projects involving diverse types of facilities. The Architect, Project Manager leads the development, management, and coordination of a wide variety of design and construction projects to deliver new facilities and facility improvements on schedule and in budget in the best interest of the University of Arizona.
The successful candidate must be a registered architect with knowledge of architectural and construction services, and project management expertise. While this position requires extensive experience in successful design and a sound understanding of current architectural practices, the Architect, Project Manager’s role will be to provide guidance and leadership throughout the design phase of the project and have a supporting role during the construction phase. This includes negotiating and administering contracts; leading professional teams of architects, engineers, and contractors; facilitating and coordinating diverse project clients’ interests; managing project budgets; reviewing documentation for compliance with University of Arizona’s standards; and guiding design outcomes that enhance and respect the campus.
