Staff Associate Architect, Capital Projects – UT System at University of Tennessee, Knoxville

The position will manage projects throughout the UT System from programming through construction. The position will assist department management and University administrators with the planning and administration of the University’s Capital Program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Participates in the evaluation for the selection of Architect/Engineer and Contractors for Capital Projects.
Provides evaluations and feedback for services throughout the design and construction process.
Coordination of Design Services and Capital Projects and Review of designs for each phase of design including:
Review and recommendation of payments for design service providers through the process of design & construction.
Coordination of Bidding for Construction, receipt and evaluation of bids, and recommendation for Award of Contracts.
Coordination/review of Construction of Capital Projects through contractor shop drawings and other submittals.
Reviews field inspections, progress meetings, problem resolutions and change order reviews, and monthly review and approval of Requests for Payment to Contractor during construction.
Coordination of Substantial and Final Completion Inspections, delivery of Project Records, Operations & Maintenance Manuals and Operations Training for Facilities Services, Construction Close-out and Completion/Occupancy.
Coordination of collection of feedback from Building Occupants via a Post-Occupancy Evaluation process.
Provide assistance to the Department of Capital Projects in reviewing submissions for all capital projects.
Coordination of Project Site Selection for specific Capital Projects.
Coordination, development, and/or evaluation of facilities programs for both new and renovation projects.
Provide assistance in Master Planning and Master Planning Updates for the campuses and institutions including facilities assessment needs.
